Mumbai: The NCP on Friday alleged that the news about rift between UP CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Narendra Modi is being spread by BJP in a bid to divert attention from the Centre's failure in corona management and vaccination drive.
NCP chief spokesman and Maharashtra Minority Affair Minister Nawab Malik lashed out at the Modi government and the BJP led government in UP for inept handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘’News of a rift between Modi and Yogi are in circulation for the past few days. It is BJP’s strategy to cover up the failures during the present pandemic,’’ he claimed. ‘’During the Corona period, the whole country and the world saw the horrific picture of the bodies of Covid-19 infected people being dumped in the river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh,’’ he added.
Malik added that Yogi in his four years in office has only created hatred in the state. ‘’Not a single plan has been implemented that will benefit the general public. Funds from the government coffers were spent on large-scale advertisements and not on Covid-19 management,’’ he said.
Malik said it is certain that the BJP will lose badly in the coming assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Malik targeted the Centre over the Covid-19 vaccination saying that it should disclose the number of people vaccinated every week and also release information with regard to the supply of vaccines to the states. ‘’The Centre had announced to supply 12 crore vaccines by June. However, till date, it has not revealed details in this regard. There are only announcements but no implementation."
