Choreographer Phulwa Khamkar had also booked a car and lost her money

Mumbai : The Mumbai police are still on the lookout for the woman who allegedly duped actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and his wife Supriya Pilgaonkar of Rs 35 lakh. The accused, identified as Anagha Borikar, was earlier a Nagpur resident but since the last four months has been residing in Pune. “We sent a team to Pune but they could not locate her. Our teams are on the lookout for her to arrest her for cheating,” said a senior officer.

Borikar allegedly applied for anticipatory bail to the high court after the sessions court rejected her application.

Interestingly, the Kalachowkie police have registered an offence against Borikar in a similar case where she allegedly duped a well-known choreographer. “Phulwa Khamkar approached the police claiming to have been duped by Borikar in a similar fashion. She had also booked a high-end four wheeler through Borikar and lost her money. We are investigating the matter,” said an officer from Kalachowkie police station.

Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar alleged that Borikar told the couple she could get him a BMW car at a price less than the prevalent market rate. He alleged that Borikar took a cheque from him worth Rs 2 lakh in the name of a BMW shop in Mumbai. During Diwali, the shop owner from Mumbai then sent the car for a test drive, but Sachin thought the brand new car had been sent by Borikar. He then paid the remaining Rs 35 lakh to her.

After two days, the BMW shop workers came to collect the car from him and that’s when he realised that he had been cheated. Borikar allegedly cheated Khamkar in a similar way for a car of a lesser price.
