Mumbai : Another case has been registered against suspended DIG Sunil Paraskar and his brother Ravi Paraskar by the Charkop police station on Saturday night for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman and wrongfully restraining her in her house on September 10.
In her complaint to the police, the 27-year-old woman alleged the Paraskar brothers entered her house on September 10 and asked her to vacate the flat which is owned by Ravi Paraskar. “They also threatened to kill me and my husband if we did not vacate it immediately and abused us,” she stated in her complaint.
Based on the complaint a case has been registered in Chakop police station while the investigation had been ordered and no arrests have been made so far.
The woman was a tenant of Ravi Paraskar who also lived in the same building. The Charkop police have registered a case under sections 347, 509 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
IPS officer Sunil Paraskar was suspended by the Maharashtra government after an inter-departmental inquiry was ordered to probe the source of several expensive gifts given by him to a 25-year-old model. The model had alleged that Paraskar (57) molested and sexually assaulted her on two occasions in December 2013. She said she had met Paraskar first in 2012 when he was additional commissioner of police. Paraskar’s lawyer argued that the allegations were false and pointed to the delay in registration of an FIR.
