Mumbai : As the monsoon approaches many make forecasts of weather conditions to sooth the farmers and all others who eagerly await at least average downpour. The forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has proved almost true in last few years. The IMD has aptly predicted the mood of weather conditions be it Tsunami, heavy rainfall, El Nino effect etc. The accurate forecast by the IMD has certainly reduced the gravity of looming danger in the form of different natural calamities. On this backdrop, the prominent newspaper group that publishes popular dailies ‘Navshakti’ and ‘Free Press Journal’ has organised a unique event ‘Welcome Monsoon’ on Thursday to make people aware about weather literacy.
