There was a huge crowd on Sunday evening on Mahim public bridge which connects Dharavi And Mahim.
The video was posted by a Twitter user wherein he tagged several media houses and Mumbai Police to draw attention to the situation.
The visual shows a large crowd moving in opposite directions accessing the foot-over-bridge and some youngsters were seen jumping and alighting using the bridge's railings.
Mumbai traffic cops had stationed 30 personnel and four officers at the spot to control the crowd.
Mahim is currently seeing an influx of people owing to the Mahim dargah festival and the fair which continue for 10 days.
Resemblance to Elphinstone road stampede
The visuals bore resemblance to the tragedy that struck the city three years ago where a stampede ensued at bridge on Elphinstone Road station in Mumbai wherein 22 people died and more than 30 were injured.
The stampede has occured on the foot-over-bridge at the railway station during morning rush hours; the incident shocked collective conscience of the public.
The stampede reportedly happened when the commuters took shelter at the FOB amid heavy rains and when the train arrived, they rushed to board it which led to a stampede.
