Mumbai : To facilitate students, the University of Mumbai is planning to issue Migration Certificate and Eligibility Certificate online from the next academic session. The decision was taken in the Management Council meeting. Officials said that students don’t need to be physically present and stand in long queue to get those certificates. A University circular and Vice Chancellor’s direction is expected soon on the issue.
The decision was part of revamp of existing procedures of University of Mumbai.
The university had formed a committee headed by Dr Siddheshwar Gadde along with Principal Dr Sunil Mantri, Senate Member Ambadas Mohite, Principal Dr Madhu Nair, Controller of Examinations Dr Dinesh Bhonde.
The committee opined that at present students are making laborious efforts to obtain these certificates. Students have to come to the university or college, stand in long and unending queues to make the application for these applications. Immediately after taking the opinion of the committee, it examined the feasibility of
project which found to be practical.
To obtain a Migration certificate, a student needs to make an online application. He needs to attach a scanned copy of his Leaving Certificate (LC) / Transfer Certificate (TC) and last year’s mark sheet and needs to pay the fee online.
After scrutinising the application form, a Digital Migration Certificate will generated on the student’s login ID. Students can take a printout of the Migration certificate from their login ID itself. This process takes a minimum of ten days. For eligibility certificate, the candidate need to go through the same process.
