Mumbai: A Maharashtra Security Forces (MSF) jawan shot himself while he was on duty near Airport Colony in Vile Parle (E) on Saturday evening. The deceased, Mohan Eknar (28), had resumed work on Saturday after four days of absence. While, three of his other friends were stationed outside within the premises, Eknar used his service rifle to fire a shot inside his mouth in a chowky located in the colony. Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are trying to find out the reason behind his act.
According to the police, Eknar had left behind a suicide note where he blamed three people for his death. Investigations reveal that the three men hailed from his village in Washim district of Maharashtra. Police sources said, Eknar was recently booked for stalking his ex-girlfriend, who was now married and settled in his hometown at Washim. “Eknar lived at the quarters assigned for the MSF personnel inside the Airport Colony. He took charge around 3pm on Saturday and was busy writing all the contact numbers onto a piece of paper. Eknar had also borrowed a co-worker’s phone claiming that he wanted to make a phone call to his brother,” said a police officer.
On Saturday evening, between 5pm and 5.30pm, he shot himself inside the chowky. Eknar was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead, while police were informed about the incident. “We have recovered the note from the spot and we are ascertaining the identity of the people mentioned in the note. Eknar’s father is also being interrogated and an Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered in the matter,” the officer addeda
