Nagpur : The government shall take all necessary decisions regarding urban planning, road development, agriculture, tourism, education, health very fast and put the development of the Vidarbha region on a fast track, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured the lower house of the Maharahstra legislature here on Friday.
The CM was replying to a discussion on development and backlog of the Vidarbha region. In process, he completely demoralised the opposition strategy to corner the government on this sensitive issue. He announced to keep himself free for Vidarbha for two days of a month and said that the government will provide adequate money for the development of the region.
The discussion was initiated by former speaker Dilip Valse-Patil. As many as 38 members participated in this discussion on the issues related to the development of Vidarbha. Some of the members from other regions of the state went to the extent of blaming people of Vidarbha for crying foul over the backlog. Several posts in the Vidarbha region have been kept vacant for years and that is the primary reason of the lack of development in the region, he said and announced the government’s resolve to fill all the posts immediately. “Action will be initiated against the officials who won’t join the duty upon transfer to the Vidarbha region,” CM said.

A lot of political speeches were given on Vidarbha but no efforts were made to fulfil them till date. ‘Credit link’ has come to a standstill. If Vidarbha is not developed now the same Vidarbha will keep you away from power.
Dr Ashish Deshmukh said that Vidarbha’s population is 23 percent. Vidarbha is known for misery.
