BJP offers good governance, social security

Mumbai : Focusing on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea of good governance, the Maharashtra BJP unit on Friday released its vision document which underlines several initiatives to be taken in various sectors like infrastructure, economy, employment, security, health and social justice.

However, the document keeps mum on the issue of statehood to Vidarbha. The vision document was released by BJP Vice President Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Director General of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, who dedicated the manifesto to the memory of Jayprakash Narayan and Nanaji Deshmukh.

Prime assurances in the vision document include enactment of ‘Maharashtra Public service Assurance Act’,  a legislation ensuring accountability of people’s representative, creation of an IT industry development authority, single window clearance for industry, restructuring of taxes to bring down petrol-diesel rates.

The document also assures pension schemes for farmers, aged housewives and retired journalists. It also assures Ambedkar memorial, empowerment of Marathi schools, increasing subsidy for drip irrigation and starting evening courts for speedy justice among a host of other things under 17 different heads.

When asked about the Vidarbha issue, Bhandari said, “The manifesto speaks about various issues. Some aspects may have been excluded, but that does not mean it cannot be included.”
