Mumbai : The office of taxi aggregator and private taxi service in Mumbai, Ola Cabs, was attacked by unknown men on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at around 7 pm on Tuesday in the back office of Ola located in Andheri (East). Men armed with sticks and stones broke the glass doors and walls of the office.
Police officials say nobody was injured and are yet to ascertain the identity of the attackers. ““Around seven to eight men suddenly came and smashed the glass walls at the entrance. While there were CCTVs installed, we are checking if they recorded the faces of the attackers. We have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter,” said a senior officer of Andheri police station.
The private cab services had recently faced the ire of the ubiquitous black and yellow cab services in the city. The Taxi Drivers’ Union had also staged a protest and were off the roads for a day against private cab services. With low rates and offers, the private cabs were an apparent threat to the black and yellow taxis.
