Mumbai: The Bhandup police on Thursday afternoon arrested two people in a nakabandi at LBS Marg, near hotel Great Punjab for possessing Rs 25 lakh in cash. Shaukat Ali Khan (62) and his son, Inam-ul-ali Khan (30) were carrying the money in an autorickshaw when they were caught. “The two had hidden the money in a basket used by vegetable vendors and covered the top with a cloth,” said Assistant Police Inspector, Geeje of the Bhandup police station. Deputy Commissioner (Detection) and the spokesperson for Mumbai police, Dhananjay Kulkarni said that the police is verifying if the money was being brought in for elections or for Bakri Eid.
