Mumbai: The Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, accompanied by the 18 members of Parliament (MPs) from his party, will visit Ayodhya on June 16. This will be Thackeray's second visit to Ayodhya in seven months. He had visited the temple town in November 2018, to reaffirm his party's commitment on the construction of Ram temple. Former MP and Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas chief, Ramvilas Vedanti said, "The NDA has once again won with a thumping majority and the same government has assumed office. Now we have decided to remind this government to finally build the Ram temple."

He further added, through Thackeray's visit, the government will have to begin the construction and there should be no further delay. "Along with Thackeray, now is the time for Amit Shah to visit Ayodhya and have a darshan of Ram lalla," said Vedanti. Earlier, Thackeray and his newly anointed MPs had sought the blessings of the Sena president's family deity, Ekveera Devi. On Thursday, they visited the temple of Ambabai at Kolhapur, who is the state goddess.
