Mumbai: Final year students studying Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) course can now apply for campus placements as they have received their results of the fifth semester. Mumbai University (MU) declared all the results of winter semester examinations of the Third Year of Bachelor of Commerce (TYBCom) course on Wednesday. This course is the largest with maximum number of students, as compared to other courses of MU. The university officials treated this course with priority and informed teachers and examiners to complete the online assessment of this course at the earliest. Vinod Malale, officer managing examinations of MU said, “We had informed all teachers to complete assessment of examinations of BCom course on priority basis.”

With the results being declared, students can now opt for campus interviews based on their marks scored in the fifth semester. Campus interviews are conducted in all colleges from February to March-end, as various private companies and corporate and media firms conduct interviews to hire students. Students are expected to mention their aggregate marks of all previous semesters in order to opt for an interview. Authorities of MU revealed, the campus placements have been a major reason to declare results before February. A senior officer of MU said, “Commerce is the largest course wherein a large number of students get placed for jobs through campus interviews. Now that we have declared the results, students can take their time and decide the interviews they wish to appear for, based on their scores.” Out of 56,511 students who appeared for fifth semester examination of TYBCom, 31,965 students passed while 24,008 students have failed.
