Mumbai: To facilitate quick dispersal of tickets, Western Railway has introduced two ticket windows of fixed denominations for Rs 5 and Rs 10 at Borivali and Andheri stations each.

WR had conducted a survey of slab-wise ticket sale at a few important stations. The analysis of the survey revealed that about two-third card tickets which are sold at Andheri and Borivali stations fall under the slabs of Rs 5 and Rs 10.

The specialized windows will be pasted with designated colour so that the passengers can easily identify them. Accordingly, the special window of the slab of Rs 5 has been colored in red while the slab of Rs 10 in yellow.

The calculation and the money exchange will also be faster as the passengers can approach these windows with fixed amount or change. This new scheme has been implemented for a period of one month up to March 10, 2014 on trial basis.
