Mumbai: The unit three of the Crime Branch arrested two men of Chhota Rajan’s gang in connection with a murder in Kamothe area of Navi Mumbai. The deceased, Ankush Mhaskar was killed with choppers and iron rods on July 21. The police learnt that Rajan’s aides, namely Umesh Jaunjal (23) and Mukesh alias Bachi alias Karan Singh, carried out the said murder. They were planning to flee on July 29 and were going to arrive at Dadar railway station on the said date. Based on this information, police laid a trap and arrested them. During interrogation, both confessed to have murdered Mhaskar. Of the two accused, Jaunjal was previously arrested by the RCF and Wadala TT police for murder and assault respectively whereas Singh was previously arrested by Crime Branch’s Anti-Robbery Cell in connection with a dacoity case. Both have been placed in the custody of Kamothe police.
