Mumbai :  Two youths died in a road accident near Kohinoor Mall in Kurla west late on Wednesday night, after the bike that they were riding collided with an Indica car. The driver of the car was arrested by VB Nagar police under charges of rash and negligent driving.

According to the medical reports of the car driver, he was not driving under the influence of alcohol. The deceased who have been identified as Muzamil Sheikh (21) and Muzafir Sheikh (24) were brothers residing at the Teacher’s Colony in Kurla west. Police sources said that the duo was grievously injured after their bike collided with an Indica car that was being driven by Rakesh Kubal (32).

“Following the accident, the two injured bikers were immediately rushed to Rajawadi hospital while the man who was driving the Indica car was nabbed by the crowd and handed over to the police,” said a police official attached with the VB Nagar police station. The source added that both the brothers succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. “We are unsure as to which one of the brothers was riding the bike as the impact flung both of them in the air, away from the accident spot. Medical reports confirmed that Kubal was not under the influence of alcohol,” the official said.
