Mumbai : The Juhu police, on Friday, conducted an inquiry at the bungalow of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bach-chan, upon learning that cash was missing from his residence.

Theft at Big B’s home: police probe still on

However, no police complaint was registered by the film star and the probe was conducted by the police to ascertain if the cash had indeed gone missing or if  it was a case of theft.

According to the Juhu Police, Bachchan called up about the missing cash, but they refused to specify the amount. The police questioned Bachchan’s servants, without any success, however. When asked if any of them had been detained for interrogation, the police said that no detention had been made, as the Bachchan family had not filed any official complaint.

“A probe was conducted by us. It was not a case of theft, but the cash was missing, hence we did not register any case,” said a police officer. The Bachchans were not sure if they had misplaced the cash in their bungalow. This is the second theft in less than a year at the actor’s house.

In July, an intruder, later identified as Dilip Kevat, was arrested for stealing Rs 8,000 from Bachchan’s room.
