Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) women's team won the runner-up title in the All India A Grade Kabaddi Championship held in Bangalore from 8th to 10th July. TMC chief congratulated the winning women's team on Monday.

All India A Grade Kabaddi Competition was held in Bangalore on 8th, 9th and 10th July and various professional groups from all over India including the TMC's women's kabaddi team participated in it. TMC's women's team won the first three matches and advanced to the semi-finals. The final game was against the South Central Railway team. Thane Municipal Corporation's women's team won the runner-up title in a close match. Team captain Komal Deokar bagged the title of best climber.

On Monday the winning team was awarded by TMC chief Dr Vipin Sharma, additional commissioner Sandeep Malvi, and Sanjay Herwade, deputy commissioner and sports officer Meenal Palande, coach Hareshwar Koli, manager Nina Gole and fitness trainer Bhatu Nikam.
