On Thursday, a 40-year-old auto driver allegedly murdered his wife, smothering her while she was asleep. The 40-year-old Thane resident, after murdering his wife, committed suicide by hanging himself with his 3-year-old daughter watching the act.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Sunil Sangale (40) after killing his wife Archana, took their daughter for ice cream before taking his own life. Sangale worked as an auto driver while his wife worked as a security assistant with Ashar IT Park in Wagale Estate. Prakash Nilewad, assistant commissioner of police, Wagale Estate told the leading daily, “We came to know from the girl, who is around three years old, that her father, an auto driver, had killed her mother. He slapped the woman twice or thrice and then smothered her while she was fast asleep.”
The police were told by the girl that Sunil Sangale after killing her mother called up several relatives and told them that he had “sent his wife to God’s home”. Later, he wrote a suicide note on the wall of his house, apologising to his family members and relatives for leaving them and killing his wife. Sunil Sangale, in a suicide note, blamed his 10 relatives including his wife’s brother and uncle.
Sangale, after writing the suicide note, hanged himself around 2 pm with his daughter watching the act. The cops have said that Sangale suspected that his wife had an affair. It also came to light that his wife had even lodged non-cognisable (NC) offences against him for domestic violence. The cops have registered a murder case against Sunil Sangale and an accidental death report in a suicide case.
