Mumbai: People from 48 constituencies will be casting their votes for the Lok Sabha polls. Approximately 8.75 crore voters are registered, of which most voters are from Thane, while Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg have the highest number of female voters in the state.
In Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, of 14,40,000 voters, 7,35,597 are female while in Thane, there are over 23 lakh voters, of which approximately, 12.6 lakh are male. There are almost 4.6 crore male voters and over 4.16 crore female voters in the state.
Maval constituency has over 22 lakh, Shirur and Nagpur have over 21 lakh each, Pune and Baramati have over 20 lakh voters. Mumbai North constituency has over 16 lakh voters, while 16.98 lakh voters are registered in Mumbai North-South, 15.58 lakh voters in the North-East constituency, 16.48 lakh voters in North Central and 14.15 lakh voters in Mumbai South-Central.
There are nine reserved constituencies — Nandurbar, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Dindori, Palghar are for Scheduled Tribes, while Amravati, Ramtek, Shirdi, Latur and Solapur are for Scheduled Caste. Elections will be held in four phases in the state on April 11, 18, 23 and 29. Over six lakh workers will help conduct the exercise.
