Thane: Four builders acquitted of culpable homicide

Thane: Four developers were freed on Friday by the Thane civil court. They were arrested after a building in Mumbra collapsed, causing four deaths. The case was in court for the last six months. They were released on Friday. A building in Bano compound of Mumbra had collapsed in September 2013. Four people had died in the mishap.

The four developers of this building were arrested after the mishap. They were charged under MRTP Act and IPC 304. They were in jail since their arrest. Bano Sheikh, Shakeel Sheikh, Mubin Sheikh and Akheel Sheikh are the four developers who were arrested.
“The building was built by some other developer and these four developers just did some minor works,” said Baba Sheikh, the lawyer of the accused.
