Mumbai : A 17-year-old victim was gangraped by four men on Monday night after she was abducted by them. The police said the victim, a resident of Borivali, was known to the victim. Three of the accused were arrested later in the night while the fourth accused is on the run. 

The police said the victim hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was living at her aunt’s house in Ganpath Nagar slum, in Borivali with her uncle after her mother abandoned her.
Officials from MHB Colony police station said, that, the incident occurredon Monday at around 8:30 pm, when the victim was intercepted by an auto rickshaw driver Sonu Kambley, known to her, when she went to buy some groceries in the market.
“Kamble asked her to sit in his rickshaw saying that he will drop her to her home. But the accused took the victim in an isolated place and dragged her into a mini-tempo parked on Link Road. Later, two of his friends Jaiprakash Pal and Aslam Khan, who are also auto rickshaw drivers, joined the accused,” said a police officer investigating the case.
An unknown person in red t-shirt, who found something amiss in the tempo came to the accused and asked her what they were doing there. But after sometime the fourth person too raped the victim, said the minor in her given statement to the police.
Meanwhile a passerby who heard the victim crying and screaming, caught Jaiprakash who was leaving the spot and handed him over to a patrolling cop.
Later Sonu and Aslam were arrested from their residence, while the fourth accused is still at large, the police said.
The accused are booked for gang rape, and other appropriate charges of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
