Mumbai: BMC group leaders will conduct a study tour to Holland towards the end of this year to study the country’s functioning of water supply, sewage treatment and storm water drainage systems. All expenses of this trip will be borne by the corporators themselves so that it is not a burden to the civic body’s treasury. This decision was passed in a meeting of group leaders in the BMC held on Monday. NCP leader Dhananjay Pisal had written a letter to standing committee chairman Yashodhar Phanse on July 15 proposing the idea. However, the BMC has not yet decided if a senior bureaucrat and the Mayor of Mumbai will also accompany the group leaders on this trip. The trip will take place in the month of November.
