Mumbai : On the occasion of the country 69th Independence Day, singer Sonu Nigam and tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh have recreated national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ along with 12 noted musicians.
“We wanted to express our gratitude to all those who fought for the Independence. I could have settled anywhere in the world as I have travelled most of my life and lived extensively abroad but I always held my roots to India and my home was always here,” said Bickram Ghosh.
“The anthem has always aroused us and we wanted to give our own tribute to the anthem, a soulful, deeply feeling tribute with some of the best singers. Hence we chose some of the top classical, folk and Bollywood singers. Some of the great instrumentalists of this generation are featured in this video,” said Sonu Nigam.
The video, which was conceived and directed by Bengali film director Arnab Riingo Banerjee, was shot in 10 days.
