From raising voices against the new property taxation system to backing the regularisation of Surya Namaskar in civic schools, Manoj Kotak, BJP leader in the civic body, was in high spirits after the civic body’s lotteries were drawn.
Kotak who contested from ward no. 103 (Nahur village), said, “My ward is unaffected by the bifurcation of wards into the reserved categories. It is a democratic selection of wards for reservations and so I believe in the selection process. Our hard work has paid off and we will still keep working around the clock.”
While many of the Sena corporators were shaken by the results of the lottery, Trushna Vishwasrao, Sena leader of the house whose ward has been reserved in the general category for the forthcoming elections, said, “My previous constituency was in ward no. 170 (Antop hill) which now has been revised to 179 (Mahim) due to the new revised ward boundaries. Luckily, both wards are under the general category this time. It was an open system for selection of wards in the reservation category. I will be contesting from ward no. 179 this time.”
