Mumbai: A 25-year-old accused jumped to death from Dindoshi Sessions court on Saturday afternoon, accused is identified as Vikas Pawar who was accused of sodomising a boy. Pawar, a resident of Ghatkopar, was booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) of unnatural sex (377) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in 2015 by Powai police. Since then, he had been lodged at the Arthur Road jail.
On Saturday afternoon, Pawar was brought to the Dindoshi Sessions Court for the hearing. While he was taken to court, he pushed the constable and jumped from the sixth floor of the court, he was taken to Shatabdi Hospital, where he was declared dead before admission.“We have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are investigating as to how the incident took place, and who is responsible for the incident,” said an officer from the Kurar Police station.
