Sixteen students held for drunk driving in Thane

Thane: Sixteen undergraduate students were nabbed by Wagle Estate traffic police for drunk driving after being pulled over and failing breathalyser tests at Yeoor in Thane on Tuesday. Inspector Anil Mangale, Wagle Estate traffic police, said,”We received information about drunk driving from social activist Binu Varghese.

We rushed to spot and deployed nakabandi at Yeoor Hills and seized eight motorcycles after finding the riders driving under the influence.We subjected them to breathalyser tests. The vehicles of those found driving drunk were seized and Rs 2,000 challans were issued.”
