Mumbai: It is not uncommon to hear of caught-and-bowled cases when it comes to cricketers and Bollywood actors and this one deals with Pakistan's renowned 'Rawalpindi Express' Shoaib Akhtar and Sonali Bendre.
Reportedly, Shoaib had a soft spot for the actor and his room was filled with her pictures. He even carried a wallet-sized photograph of her, it is said. In an interview, he had allegedly claimed he would kidnap her if she refused his proposal. Thanks to the ongoing World Cup, this story has been doing the rounds on social media.
However, Shoaib has shared a video denying this. "I have never met Sonali Bendre and was not even the least interested in her. I did not want to kidnap her." End of the match.
But he appreciated Sonali's fight with cancer and said he was her fan after reading about her struggle. "I saw and read about Sonali's journey since the time she was afflicted with cancer. I really appreciate how she has fought back and now, I have become her fan," said Shoaib.
Shoaib has denied there is anything more. "I have no other connection with her. The only person whose photograph I keep in my room is that of Imran Khan," said Shoaib.
In fact, Shoaib declared it was time for everybody to help Sonali in her recovery and fight against cancer. "People should refrain from spreading such stories," he advised.
