Party accepts 33% power in state-run corporations while its alliance partner BJP will get double share
Mumbai : The BJP and the Shiv Sena have reached a power-sharing formula in the state-run corporations, state BJP president Raosaheb Danve told reporters here on Thursday.
The BJP would keep 66% of the power and the Sena would get 33%, he said. But, did not reveal how much the smaller allies would get.
The issue of the appointments had been pending for over six months now. The decision of 66:33 power-sharing formula, which was reached after hectic negotiations, is expected to pave way for sharing of power with smaller allies also. But, that was not announced on Thursday.
“I, along with (state PWD minister) Chandrakant Patil held negotiations with Sena leaders Subhash and Anil Desai today. According to the pact, we have decided to have a 66:33 sharing formula in state-run corporations. This is similar to the 2:1 pact that we have in the state ministry,” Danve said.
Danve also said that ministers of both parties are doing good work and that the decision on expansion of the cabinet will be taken by the party high command at an appropriate time.
While denying the charges of political vendetta Danve said that the orders for an open inquiry against Chhagan Bhujbal for alleged corruption in the Maharashtra Sadan case along with alleged involvement of Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare in the irrigation scam were given by the previous government when late R R Patil was the Home Minister.
“There is no political vendetta in the case. We have not initiated any inquiry against Bhujbal. The permission for the open inquiry was given by R R Patil himself when the previous government was in power. It seems that his own party is out to finish his political career,” Danve said.
