Mumbai: A 34-year-old wife of a Shiv Sena leader, facing trial in his murder case, found hanging in the bathroom at Adharwadi jail, Kalyan on Sunday morning. The police said the deceased has been identified as Sakshi Nimse. The incident came to light on Sunday morning, after a woman guard noticed that Sakshi had not returned from the toilet for long.
She alerted her colleagues after which jail officals reached to the spot and broke the door to found Sakshi hanging. The jail officials took her to Central hospital in Ulhasnagar where her post mortem was conducted. Police said the cause of death is yet to be ascertain unknow.
Sakshi was facing trial for allegedly awarding a contract to kill her husband Shailesh Nimse, a Sena leader from Shahapur taluka, on suspicion that he was having an extra-marital affair. Shailesh was allegedly killed by suspected contract killer Pramod Lute (32) and his associates in Ganeshpuri in Thane on April 20 last year. Lute, his associate and Sakshi were arrested on April 25.
