Aurangabad : An MBA student, fed up with sexual harassment in a one-sided love affair, ended her life by committing suicide by consuming heavy dose of slipping pills at her house in CIDCO recently.

The accused youth was arrested twice but succeeded in securing bail from court both the times and is now at large.

The victim has been identified as Shruti Ashok Kulkarni (23, Bajrang Chowk of CIDCO N-7) while the accused who abated the suicide as Swapnil Santosh Miniyar (23), a resident of Turkabad in Gangapur tehsil of Aurangabad district. The victim’s maternal uncle Sanjay Vaidya told this correspondent that Swapnil wanted her to marry with him though she was not interested in him and was mentally torturing her for the same over last 2-3 months. He was constantly calling her on her mobile phone, sending lewd SMSes and also was threatening to kill her elder sister and grandparents. Shruti lodged a complaint against Swapnil in the CIDCO police station on August 2 after which he was arrested on the charge of molestation but he was released on bail by the court.

On coming out of police lock-up he continued his nasty and irking activities. This not only disturbed Shruti in her studies but also came as a mental trauma.
