Mumbai: In a direct taunt to Shiv Sena youth president, Aaditya Thackeray, who has supported keeping restaurants open throughout the night, Nitesh Rane, president of Swabhiman Sanghatana, said Sena leaders should stop obsessing over night life and instead try to save citizens.
“Rather than pampering Penguins and fighting for night life, why did Sena not led BMC try saving real lives for a change! Now the same old blame game and bridge audit dialogues will start and absolutely nothing will happen. Municipal corporation is the richest, but zero value for life!” tweeted Rane. He went on to say, the politicians and commissioner will target small officers, instead of pinning the real culprits.
‘Now some small officers will be sacked or targeted and sum enquiry will be named just like Kamala Mills, Elphistone Bridge or Ghatkopar building crash… This time… Sack the BMC chief? Ask the useless Mayor to resign? Where is the accountability?! Walk the talk or just talk once again?” questioned Rane.
Rane resorted to tweets, after Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was busy on a tour on poll campaign, outside Mumbai. Even after Ajoy Mehta, the commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation did not go to the spot, many opposition party members targeted Sena leaders.
