Mumbai : BJP will start the ‘Sangharsh Yatra’ from Sindkhed Raja in Buldhana district from Thursday. MLA and daughter of late Gopinath Munde, Pankaja, will lead the yatra which is expected to connect the party chord with the common voter in rural Maharashtra.
The two stage 14-day 3000 km yatra will cover 79 Assembly constituencies in 21 districts of Maharashtra and culminate at Chondi on September 18.
Sindkhed is the birthplace of Rajmata Jijau, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while Chondi is the birthplace of Maharani Ahilyadevi Holkar.
The daily chore of the yatra includes four big public meetings and numerous corner meetings. “Party will expose the ill governance and corruption during the Democratic Front government’s tenure in the state. We will also ensure that prominent state and central leaders will accompany the yarta every day,” state BJP president Devendra Fadnavis said.
Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje will flag off the ‘yatra’.
