Mumbai : The Oshiwara police on Friday booked one person, identified himself as actor Salman Khan’s distant cousin, for assaulting and harassing a woman after she turned down his marriage proposal. The 25-year-old woman, who works as a health consultant, claims that she was first introduced to Abdulla Khan on 14 March 2014 during her frequent professional visits to the actor’s house. The two started talking frequently with Abdullah, who is a marketing professional, even offered to help her in expanding her business.

On May 29, 2015, Abdullah invited her to meet him near his residence in Andheri where he proposed marriage to her. When the complainant refused, Abdullah allegedly threatened her and said he would defame her and not let her lead a peaceful life. She also claims that on June 5, Abdullah snatched her laptop and damaged it.

Even after the woman changed her residence, Abdullah continued harassing over texts, email and WhatsApp messages by constant calls and using offensive words. On September 10, Abdullah visited her residence and repeatedly asked her to meet him downstairs. When she refused, he verbally abused her and even threatened to kill her. The woman further alleges, that Abdullah hacked into her Instagram and Facebook accounts and posted offensive pictures and posts and even abused some of her contacts.

The Oshiwara Police have registered a case under Sections 354 (Outraging modesty of woman), Section 506 (criminal intimidation) and various other offences of the IPC.
