Bhayandar: Admissions of children from economically weaker sections of society under the RTE quota have been extremely poor in Mira Bhayandar. Out of 1,314 seats available under this category in 91 private schools in the twin city, only 160 online applications were received and out of them only 70 children qualified for admission.

The apathetic attitude of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) officials in creating awareness among the parents about the scheme is believed to be a major reason for this poor show.  The MBMC has become second in the list of dismal performers across the district.
