Mumbai: To protect himself from arrest, controversial actor Aditya Pancholi filed an application seeking anticipatory bail, before the Dindoshi sessions court. This comes after the actor was booked by the Mumbai police for allegedly raping and confining actress Kangana Ranaut.

Police had filed an FIR against Pancholi, last week, reportedly on the complaint of Ranaut, who levelled serious allegations against him. With this FIR registered against him, Pancholi apprehends he might be arrested any time for investigations in the case and thus has sought a pre-arrest relief.

Reportedly, the Dindoshi court has posted his plea for hearing on Tuesday. The legal spat between Ranaut and Pancholi is not new, as it is going on ever since the former made some startling revelations about her alleged relationship with Pancholi. According to Ranaut, Pancholi abused and assaulted her during their relationship, a decade ago. The actress in an interview with an national news channel had accused Pancholi of confining her to a room. She had also made other allegations.

The allegations did not go well with Pancholi and his family. Resultantly, they filed a suit against Ranaut, claiming she defamed them. A magistrate court in Andheri had recently issued summons to both Ranaut and her elder sister Rangoli Chandel, who is also her official spokesperson.
