Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has served stop work notice to popular Bollywood actor Rani Mukherjee for illegally covering the terrace of her bungalow situated at posh Juhu Tara Road and constructing more rooms without seeking prior permission from the civic body. A senior civic officer stated that the actor took permission for conducting renovation work but she illegaly carried out some work due to which the notice has been served.
He further stated that earlier an inspection notice of U/S 488 had been served to check if any extra work was being carried out by actor at her bungalow. Prashant Gaikwad, Assistant Municipal Commissioner (AMC) of Andheri West ward said, “After the stop work notice was served to the actor, she is now seeking permission to make those legal. Hence, after conducting an inspection if the work is non-approvable then it will be demolished and if it’s approvable then a heavy fine would be imposed and construction regularised.” Free Press Journal contacted the actor’s PR officials but they claimed that it was an old matter and they would reply only after their client approved.
