Mumbai: A video of a woman assaulting a railway employee for stealing a mobile went viral on social media on Saturday. It is alleged she was an MNS worker. The incident took place on Thursday, when Nandini Belekar and her friend Ranjana went to the ticket counter at Mumbai Central to buy tickets to Khar. After buying the tickets, Ranjana could not find her mobile, so she went back to the ticket counter and enquired. The clerk denied having seen it. However, Nandini saw her friend’s mobile cover lying near the counter. Her suspicions aroused, Nandini just barged into the booking office and pulled open the drawer and found the mobile in it.
The SIM card too had been removed. Booking clerk’s lie angered Nandini, and she thrashed him. When a railway official was asked about what action would be taken against the clerk, he said the authorities had not received any complaint and would only be able to take appropriate action after a complaint was lodged.
