Mumbai : Yet again, commuters on Central Railway were inconvenienced on Wednesday morning after a rail fracture was detected on the harbor line between Vashi and Sanpada.
The trains on the up track (towards CST) were held up until the tracks were rectified which also lead to several trains getting delayed.
PRO of CR, AK Singh said, “The problem on the track was witnessed at 11 am and it was rectified by 11:26 am. Until the track was repaired one Panvel bound train was stuck and several trains were held after it.”
In another incident heavy smoke was reported coming out of Thane bound local while it reached Kalyan station. According to an official of CR there was heavy smoke seen arising out of the retro-fitted rakes after it departed from Asangaon and was about to reach Shahad.
The motorman of the train slow brought the train up to platform number 3 at Kalyan station after which it was cancelled and taken to the yard.
There were also reports of people trying to douse fire using water buckets as the fire brigade did not come for 30 minutes after the incident.
