Navi Mumbai: Abhijit Shivathare, Additional Superintendent of Police, Raigad, has been awarded the Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation-2023. The honor was presented by Aditi Tatkare, Maharashtra's Minister for Women and Child Development, during a Republic Day ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Alibag, Raigad.

About The Honor

Shivathare earned the award for his outstanding work in solving a 2014 robbery case registered at Kasa Police Station, Palghar district. As Deputy Superintendent of Police at the time, he employed innovative methods and thorough efforts to investigate the case. He took legal action under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), filed the chargesheet within the required time frame, and ensured the conviction of the accused.
