Mumbai : The nation gets glued to television sets each time any news is flashed about the clandestine world of self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa. The inquisitiveness surrounding the mystery of the woman in red beguiles both men and women alike.
However, a group of women had taken the hype generated around the self-styled godwoman to an altogether different level. Ten women had organised a Radhe Maa-themed kitty party. Dressed in Radhe Maa’s trademark red, wearing dark red lipsticks and tilak with trishuls in their hands, they posted the picture of their party on social media. With hundreds of shares on Facebook and similar number of re-tweets on Twitter, the picture has gone viral.
With comments like – Astonishing. Perhaps, we Indian have satire build in our bones” to “Talk of the day is Radhe Maa theme kitty party. Looking for a day being celebrated as Radhe Maa day” – It’s hard to tell if self-proclaimed godwoman Radhe Maa is being held up to ridicule or admiration by this group of women.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Bombay High Court asked the Borivali police to file a status report on the investigation that they have done so far on the complaint filed by advocate Falguni Brahmabhatt against Radhe Maa. It is said that the Mumbai police will file the status report in the next two days.
Brahmabhatt had approached the HC alleging obscenity, vulgarity and misuse of charity. Radhe Maa is also facing a police probe in connection with a dowry harassment case.
