Mumbai : Additional municipal commissioner SVR Srinivas said on Wednesday at the standing committee meeting that the one-hour delay in the arrival of the fire brigade at the SRA building fire at Vikhroli would be probed. The Vikhroli fire station is just a two-minute drive from the site of the fire.

FPJ was the only newspaper to highlight this issue.
He also said that the lack of open space in the compound, which prevented the entry of the fire tenders, would be probed.
“How did the fire brigade grant a NOC to the building?’’ asked Dilip Lande, MNS corporator.
SRA rules stipulate that the passage between two buildings must be at least 15 feet. In this case, it was just nine feet.
Apparently, the SRA builder had squeezed in the buildings in a small plot.
