Bhayandar : Stepping up the security in the city ahead of the assembly elections, the Mira Road police took out a flag march on Friday morning.

A contingent of more than 200 police personnel including Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Riot Control Platoon (RCP) led by senior cops participated in the pre-election exercise. An indication of assurance of safety by the department, especially in the suspected trouble spots of the region, the flag march started off from Rassaz Mall and covered nodes such as Hyderi Chowk ( Naya Nagar), Golden Nest and Shivar Garden in Mira Road.

Currently, various measures have been taken by the district administration and the police to ensure safety and peaceful environment during the upcoming Assembly Election. While the Mira Bhayandar assembly segment ( 145) envelopes most of the twin-city, a major chunk of it runs into the Ovala-Majiwada assembly constituency ( 146). Similar flag marches would be held in the coming days at all police station limits.
