Thane: A police personnel was killed while another was injured when a two-wheeler collided head-on with their motorcycle, while they were on night patrol duty at Mharal village in the district, police said today.
The deceased was identified as V S Wagh and the injured as T V Sable (35), both attached to Kalyan taluka police station, they said. The two were on patrol duty last night, when a two-wheeler rammed head-on into their motorcycle on Kalyan-Murbad road, police said. In the collision, Wagh died on the spot, while Sable got injured and was rushed to a hospital, they said.
The driver of the two-wheeler fled the scene after the incident, they said. A case has been registered against the unidentified accused under relevant sections of the IPC and the Motor Vehicles Act, police said, adding further investigation is on.
