Police unite kidnapped boy with mom on Mother’s Day

Mumbai: Malwani police have arrested a child abductor from Surat and reunited a two-year-old boy with his mother on Mother’s Day ie on May 09.

A 25-year-old Shaym Mandal had allegedly abducted the  Arnav Ravi Patil (2) from Azmi Nagar area of Malwani on May 07 from the custody of boy’s maternal aunt. The mother of the boy registered a missing complaint under section 363 of the IPC at Malwani police station after she did not find her son.

The complainant lady, who stays with her husband in Malad east area, works in  a Goregaon-based company. “Mandal and the mother of the boy had worked together in Jain hospital at Goregaon and they were friends. But, because of vindictive nature of Shyam Mandal, she broke the friendship over last 6 months and since last 15 days she had also blocked his cell no. Angry over this, Shyam had a violent dispute with the lady on May 07 and kidnapped her child,” said Senior PI of Malwani police station, Milind Khetle, who further added that the accused had left for Surat after kidnapping the boy. The Senior PI further added that a team of PSI Dilip Salunke and staff of Malwani Police went to Surat and traced the kidnapped boy Arnav and caught hold of the accused and reunited  the boy and mother on the ’Mother’s Day’.
