Mumbai : An inspector of Malad police station, Raghunath Dalvi was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau on Wednesday for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a hotelier. He was arrested with his tout Manohar Bhandari.
In a search carried out at Dalvi’s office in Malad, the police recovered Rs 4.90 lakh and several property document at his Kandivali house. According to the property documents recovered, Dalvi owns two flats of 1,000 square feet each in his and his wife’s name in Thakur Complex in Kandivli. According to police officials, Dalvi was supervising a raid conducted at Hotel Lalit Vihar for some violation. A few hotel staffers were arrested as part of the raid. However, Inspector Raghunath Dalvi asked the hotel owner to pay Rs 25,000 to get the bail of his staffer on the spot. The owner who did not want to pay the bribe approached the ACB and got Dalvi arrested.
