Bhayandar : A quarrel over a trivial issue led to the murder of 22-year-old man who was stabbed by a duo at a secluded area in the Nagindas Pada area of Nallasopara (East) late on Monday night. While one of the assailants has been apprehended, the other is still at large.

According to the police, local resident, Kundan Gupta (22), who works with a private company, was on his way home, when his arm accidentally brushed with the accused -identified as Kamlesh Yadav alias Katli (20). Katli and his friend and co-accused- Ganesh Kirkira alias Athra (22) who were allegedly in an inebriated state, picked up a quarrel on the trivial issue with Kundan Gupta.

The war of words took a violent turn when the duo repeatedly stabbed Gupta with a knife. A profusely bleeding Gupta was rushed to the Alliance Hospital, where he succumbed to his deep chest and back injuries. The police managed to arrest Kamlesh Yadav, while his accomplice-Ganesh is said to be absconding.

“We have recovered the murder weapon and have launched a man hunt to nab the absconding accused. A case under section 302 of the IPC has been registered against the arrested accused who has been remanded to police custody.” said a police officer.
