Mumbai : In a broad daylight, two bike-borne assailants attacked a petrol pump employee and took away cash over Rs 17 lakh in Goregaon (East). The victim was on his way to deposit the cash into the bank.

The incident occurred near the Western Express Highway at Goreagaon when two unidentified men approached the victim, snatched his bag and even attacked him, and fled the spot immediately.

According to the police, victim Dubey was on his way on a bike towards Dindoshi to deposit the amount. Suddenly, two unidentified men tried to stop his bike. When Dubey refused to stop the bike, they assaulted him and he fell from the bike.

Police further informed that the victim called for help, when passersby came for his rescue, the two unidentified men pointed a gun towards them and then escaped on their bike from the crime scene.  Police are making a sketch on the description of the victim. As per the police, someone who knew the daily routine of Dubey has given the tip about the cash being carried. “An FIR has been registered against unidentified person under various sections of the IPC and further investigation is on,” said a police officer from Vanrai Police station.
