Bhiwandi: In a new twist to 15-day fees and extra syllabus dispute between parents and the authorities at St Mary’s School in Kalyan, parents of some students on Thursday publicly shaved their heads to protest against fee hike and extra money charged for extra pattern syllabus by St Mary’s School in Kalyan. A total of 13 parents had shaved their heads shaved the school gate. According to the parents, they were forced to take this decision after being harassed by the school management 15 days after the fee hike.
The Education Officials visited the spot after knowing about the parents harsh decision of shaving their heads who assured them of initiating action against the school authorities after which parents agreed to withdraw their protest. In last 15 days this is the third protest by parents against school over fee-hike issue, since the school management could neither reduce the fees nor took the initiative to drop extra syllabus which was costing each student extra burden of around Rs 7,500.
