Mumbai: Public rallies and road show are commonly used during any poll. However, Bharatiya Janata Party has opted to interact with intellectuals as the same strategy used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister is the star campaigner of the party who addressed four rallies interacted with around 200 intellectuals from various sect of society in Palghar city on Tuesday and replied to each and every question of attendees.
Members of district Bar association, industry association, doctors, Divyang, fishers association and other several people attended ‘Samvad’ (interaction) with CM Fadnavis. Initially it was decided Fadnavis will answer 20 questions called from the invitees in written. However, later even common man asked questions and Fadnavis replied them.
Fadnavis is the only chief minister who had visited Palghar for four times during last four years. People complained about issues related to industries, road, environment, fisheries and about Wadhvan port. Fadnavis assured construction of court building will be speed up. He said state will transfer amount to the municipal council if they will facilitate common effluent project.
“People are against industries as they emmit pollution. If it will use effluent plants, it will help to reduce pollution and the views will also change,” said Fadnavis.
The chief minister assured he will look into how state’s policies will reach upto divyang. “We introduced Right To Services act. 498 services brought under this act. People must opt this act to end corruption,” said Fadnavis.
He further said land issues are the main resources of corruption. “We have digitised land records (7/12 extract) and on October 2, it will be open for common people. People will not need to go to Talathi office for land record. You will get it from home and it will end corruption in land revenue department,” CM replied on question asked about corruption. He said he will speak with shipping minister Nitin Gadkari to speed up work of Wadhvan port.
